WHAT YOU NEED:
- size H (5mm) crochet hook (my FAVORITE hooks!)
- size 4 worsted weight yarn in the desired color (suggested yarns)
- scissors
- tapestry needle
Pattern Notes:
New stitches you will encounter are the FPTC (front post treble crochet) and the BPDC (back post double crochet) ***all stitches are fully explained in the video tutorial***
This pattern is worked in a multiple of 15 + 2 and the gauge is:
3sts = 1″ & 2 rows = 1″
Pattern For Crib Size (all other sizes included in the pattern PDF) – appr.1200 yrds of yarn
CH 77
Row 1 – In the 3rd CH from the hook place a DC. Continue all the way across with DCs. Turn.
Row 2 – CH 2 ((counts as first DC)), DC in the next 2 stitches, *skip 3 stitches and FPTR into the next 3 stitches, WORKING IN FRONT OF THE 3 FPTC STITCHES YOU JUST MADE, place 1 FPTC in each of the 3 skipped stitches, FPTC in the next 3 stitches, DC in the next 6 stitches, repeat from * across ending with 1 DC in each of the last 3 stitches (this will create the 3 DC border on each side of the blanket). Turn.
Row 3 – CH 2 ((counts as first DC)), DC in the next 2 stitches, *BPDC in the next 9 sts, DC in the next 6 stitches, repeat from * across ending with 1 DC in each of the last 3 stitches (your last DC will be placed in the top of the CH 2 space since the CH 2 DOES COUNT as a stitch). Turn.
Row 4 – CH 2 ((counts as first DC)), DC in the next 2 stitches, *FPTC in the next 3 stitches, skip 3 stitches, FPTC in the next 3 stitches, WORKING IN FRONT OF THE 3 FPTR STITCHES YOU JUST MADE, place 1 FPTC in each of the 3 skipped stitches, DC in the next 6 stitches, repeat from * across ending with 1 DC in each of the last 3 stitches. Turn.
Row 5 – CH 2 ((counts as first DC)), DC in the next 2 stitches, *BPDC in the next 9 stitches, DC in the next 6 stitches, repeat from * across ending with 1 DC in each of the last 3 stitches. Turn.
Row 6 – 76: repeat rows 2-5
Row 77 – CH 2 ((counts as first DC)) DC all the way across. Tie off.
At this point, you can add a border or leave it as is. A few border options are:
- SC all the way around making sure to put 3 SC together in each of the corners for a nice rounded edge.
- A crab stitch border
- A ribbed border like the one pictured in the photo below

The pattern says 3dc between cables and the picture shows at least 6 dc. Which is correct????
If you look at row 3 it is a repeat that calls for a total of 6 HDC. You are correct it is a total of 6 just like what is pictured.
I am having trouble with row 2, the problem is:I have stitiches left over. I had a friend to crochet the pattern using 19 stitches and she had stitches left over too. Any suggestions. I followed the pattern just as written please help.

If you’re working in a multiple of 8+6 there shouldn’t be any stitches left. I did mis-speak on the video saying 8+5 were the multiples however that wouldn’t give you an even amount on both sides.

I am still stuck on row number 2… If there are 6 stitches in the rib, then way are we bpdc 9 times instead of the six? And, like the others, there are 3 dc between each rib, but in the picture there are more. This is kind of throwing me off

I love the looks of this blanket. Unfortunately, after trying for a few hours, I still can’t figure out the pattern. I’m fairly good at reading patterns, and this pattern seems too vague. Can you make a video for this pattern?

I’m having trouble with row 4. If you do the repeat, you end up with 6 DC and 3 FPDC, so it throws the braid off by having 9 dc in between the treble stitches. Also when I messed around and eliminated 3 DC, the treble didn’t create the flow look like in the picture. It was the same as row 2. Something seems off. Thoughts? Thanks so much.
Does the cable pattern show on both sides of the blanket or just ome?

I’m not sure at all if I’m following this right. I chained 99 as stated, and double crocheted in the fourth stitch on the first row. The second row seems unbalanced, I.e. I have 6 dc on one side and the other following the fpdc is only one dc. Are the cables supposed to be centered? As in the smell number of normal dc stitches on each edge of the blanket?

You are completely right! I was the one who wrote it wrong. For the crib size, you should have a CH of 105 which would give you a centered cable of 6 DC on both edges. I am so sorry about that!
I didn’t seen in your instructions how much yarn I would need to make the 50″ X 65″ throw or any of the other sizes.

I am very excited to try this project. I am new to crocheting. I have made a few ripple blankets and a pretty cool star shaped blanket. your blanket is so beautiful and I would like to make it as a graduation blanket. I was thinking to get the school colors I would like to do the two outer stitches of the cable one color and the inner stitch the main color for the pattern. I was also wanting to make it just shy of a twin size. want it for his sofa but he is a tall guy. How would I figure out how many starting stitches I would need for like a 5 foot across blanket
In the video you said the pattern was in multiples of 12 + 3. In the pattern it states multiples of 12 + 9.

I love the look in the photos, with 3 dc plus 2ch turn on each edge, with the cabling centered between. I figured out that to achieve this, the repeat is 18 + 9. In Row 1, start on the 3rd ch from hook, so you get the ch2 edge like in all other rows. Begin each row with the ch2 turn followed by 3dc, work the cable/6dc/cable repeat across to the last 3 dc, dc in 3 dc and in the top chain of the ch2 turn. I like this look better than cabling right to the edge. It appeals to my love of symmetry 🙂 Great pattern, thanks for sharing!

Hi. I had a really weird question. On the Treble crochets where we have to put the Fp there’s 2 places where to put the FP on the treble. there’s the treble in itself and then there’s like a little space on the very top of the treble under where you’d normally stitch without using the post. The very top I’m talking about would prevent the stitch from sliding down. I hope I’m making sense lol I’d love to send a picture so you see it but I don’t know how to get the picture to you. Hi Jasmine, Not a weird question at all! I know exactly what you are talking about and some people do prefer to crochet into that area instead of the post. If you find that the size and shape of the blanket becomes distorted, then you may need to adjust your tension when making stitches that way. If it’s working up just fine, and you like placing your stitches in that little nook of the treble, then please do so! Crochet your own way, crochet the way that makes you happy, crochet is art!

Hi, I love your pattern ! I am a bit challenged…as I see several corrections.. I have tried 3 times and either have one or 2 stitiches left over.
So is the chain counted as 1 dc for total of 6 per ends of rows? One part is says it is then another says always end rows in top of chain. I am doing multiples of 12 +9. Beginning with dc in the 4th chain.
Also the diagram has 3 DC at each end. HELP.

I think this pattern is still incorrect. The 2nd and subsequent rows state to start off with bpdc or fpdc, yet the edges are smooth so this can’t be right.

I would like to see the entire blanket. I’d like to see how the colors were used. It looks like navy, yellow, white, yellow, navy with white border. Can you give instructions on how to do the border? I am completely new to crocheting but I got this cable pattern down and have started the full size blanket. Just need to know how many rows of each color and the pattern of colors.

When increasing in 15 + 2 increments is for every 15 + 2 or add 2 at the end
you would complete a multiple of 15 to get your desired length and then add 2 at the very end.

It seems that PayPal is employing double standards to many different companies. As a result of this limitation, I can no longer accept PayPal on my CBD-related website. This has restrained my payment possibilities and right now, I am intensely reliant on Cryptocurrency payments and direct bank transfers. I have consulted with a solicitor from a Magic Circle law firm in The city of london and they stated that what PayPal is doing is entirely not legal and discriminatory as it ought to be applying a consistent standard to all companies. I am still to seek advice from a different lawyer from a US law practice in London to see what PayPal’s legal position is in the USA. Meanwhile, I would be extremely appreciative if anyone here at targetdomain could offer me with different payment processors/merchants that deal with CBD companies.
